Programming PIC18F14K50 with ICSP

I was under the impression that you need a another board along with the PICK Kit2 to program, like this one...

Where did you get this impression from? It is a wrong impression.

You mean I dont anything other than the PIC kit2 to program the PIC...
I did not see any place where an IC could be inserted in a PIC Kit2 and hence was under the impression that I needed a board like that to insert the IC to program.
Can I please trouble you to let me know how and where I insert the IC into a PIC kit2 to program?

PicKit2 is an ICSP - In Circuit Serial Programmer. Google it.

I did read about ISCP and do a know a little but I guessed you could not program the PIC18F14K50 in the MD circuit, since earlier in teh chain you had emphatically said NO.
I guess you meant no direct cable and serial program but with the PIC Kit2 yes
Right?
So I need a PIC kit2 and then use the ISCP cable to connect from the MD board to the PIC kit2.?
