Dimitri... wow...

I got the chip you sent me, as well as my triggers and cymbals, and while I haven't really worked yet with the cymbals, I did manage to work with my Snare. I was horribly disappointed (Please keep reading). I was getting horrible miss triggers, the rim kept triggering and I had dead spots all over the place. The triggers I used were these "Quartz Harness" ones I got on ebay. It seemed promising, non invasive and I could keep the drum in tact. Hours I spent last night, trying different things and never seeming to get anything right. However...

In my closet is a DIY drum I made with the Mega-drum when I originally got it. It was hot, and I cooled the head trigger but neglected to do so with the rim... so the rim triggered all the time. Though just to see if maybe, possibly, the megadrum was okay, I went ahead and plugged in that DIY 10" mesh head drum. Now, the rim kept triggering, but holy cow! I must have just gotten lucky with the settings! Not one miss-trigger, the rolls were spot on, and my accents were dead on the money! I felt like I was at guitar center on one of their TD-20's. I played it for 20 minutes (even with the rim triggering every other hit... my own fault for not soddering on a resister)

As far as my other one, I have to say I'm going to blame the harness. http://www.quartzpercussions.com/produc ... ml#harness

Seems to me that it would be very easy to not get the angle of the cone just right, as well as crushing it, or having it too lose. *sigh* I'm going to pick up some cake pans this weekend. I think something like this needs to be more precise.

Though, I suppose I can ask. Do 27mm work well with the Megadrum? That is what is on my Pintech cymbals, as well as on my heads.

THANK YOU! I'm going to get this bad boy working soon!
