MegaDrum for something different - More CCs?

Postby Renato » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:32 pm

Hey all, this is my first post on the forum.
I've been checking MegaDrum for a while now and I can see it's a major success. I'm looking for something odd, which MegaDrum being the closest design I've found.
I want to use it for a different sound result than simulating drums. The instrument will have pads/triggers as well as ribbons and wheels, so I'd like to have more CC available on the MegaDrum kit. These would control pitch, master level, effect parameters and stuff like that.
Is it possible?
Thanks!
Renato

(btw, I tried searching the best I could but "CC" is only two letters long so the search engine won't accept it as valid =( )

I guess the best approach would be to use a PC utility/program to map incoming MIDI Note On/Off to MIDI CC messages using virtual MIDI ports (e.g. MIDI Yoke).

Thanks for the fast reply, Dmitri.
I've come across Noatikl, which seems to handle this job (http://www.intermorphic.com/tools/noati ... ers_6.html). Has anyone used it or can recommend a similar tool?

Look at MIDI-OX (http://www.midiox.com seems to be down right now but you can download it elsewhere). There "Options-> Data Mapping" appears to do exactly what I suggested. Never did it myself though.
