[solved] Inputs 1-5 Synthex v3.1 not reacting to piezos

Hello all,

I'm having the problem with my Synthex kit v3.1, that Piezo signals on the Inputs Bassdrum, Hihat, Snare, Ride and Crash don't trigger MIDI-Messages or show up on the LCD. Tom1-4 and Aux-Inputs work fine.

Has anybody had such problems? Can Anybody give me a lead to what could be wrong (input-wiring has been checked)?

Thanx in advance

Did you use the same model jacks for all of them?

yes, all jacks are the same.

Try reversing your ide cable on the inputs. Are you using the v1.8 jack inputs?

no, I am not using Jack-input-boards.
reversing the IDE-Cable won't work since the jacks are connected correctly, e.g. the HH-Control Input-Jack is connected to the HH-Control and the input does control the cc-04 datastream.

1. Check that the first multiplexer (74hc4851) is getting +5.
2. Check for continuity from pin 3 of the same multiplexer to pin 40 of Atmega.
3. Check that pin 40 of Atmega is not shorted to the ground.

1. Multiplexer sems to be getting +5V.
2. Seems to be some resistance between the two
3. Seems to be some resistance between the two

I guess that i am wasteing your time, since i would conclude that the soldering job was poorly executed by me. If you have got the time and want to feel free to help me, otherwise no big problem, i've got more than enough other Inputs(T1-T4; Aux's)

I got the "problem" sorted out. Seems that only my stupidity stood in the way of success. I had incorrectly soldered the jacks, because I assumed something which turned out to be incorrect.

Thank you Dmitri, Synthex (for the Kit) and jman31
