cross talk - overspill....

Postby scilence » Mon Dec 08, 2008 4:42 am

let me start out by saying i am using dmitri's build.

It seems i have a little cross talk issue. I have one drum hooked with one piezo in it. the drum is hooked up to number 6 input and shows the hit on the 3rd box bottom line on the lcd. it also shows activity on 14 on the top and 13 and 15 on the bottom. When i look at the MegaDrum config it shows i am hitting 63 1nd 37. Any ideas. it looks like i am using the 4051's also should the be changed out for 4851's?

edit: addied a screen shot incase...

Crosstalk is probably due to interference/bad connections/missing grounds/bad schielding/too long cables.
First, I suspect you have your connections mixed up. The input 6 should produce Ride Bow notes. If you look at http://www.megadrum.info/img/analogue_board_kicad.png you'll see that this input goes to the pin 9 of the Pads connector.
As it is a Ride Bow input it should show activity on the 4th top box of the lcd.
Check out your connections.

sorry it was late last night. The drum was actually connected to pin 7 on the board and showing activity on the 3rd box on the bottom of the lcd. that sound correct to you. I did notice one bad weld on my board so i am going to go over it again part by part. your support on these forums is nothing short of phenomenal and would like to once again thank you foryour help in my silly questions. is there a chart that shows what each of the outputs on the lcd mean?

It has the same order as the order of inputs in the menu.
