Okay, first and foremost, I want to thank everyone in here for being so helpful. Now to my question....

I have a smart trigger hi hat, it has one mounted trigger box which is typical for the metal type cymbals as seen with the pearl epro. I also have a pearl hi hat controller, as comes with the pearl e-pro kit.

Hi hat has one trigger input, hi hat controller also has one trigger input. How does one configure this with MDM? I know it has to be a bit different from setting up other cymbals and pads right?

Yesterday I connected hi hat, and it indeed triggers the SD hi hat sound, but the controller pedal does not do anything. Will I need a y splitter for these? Or do I need to use both controller inputs on the MDM?

Connect the HiHat Controller to the HiHat pedal/controller jack of the module and configure HiLevel and LowLevel of the HiHat pedal as per http://www.megadrum.info/content/hihat-pedal-settings.

So in this case where does the actual cymbal go? Unless I have a y splitter, I cannot connect more than one thing to the model, otherwise 2/3 wont work, only one at a time it seems. Should I just configure another input entirely?

You can connect your cymbal to any input. By default the HiHat pedal expect the HiHat cymbal on input 2. See HHInput in http://www.megadrum.info/content/hihat-pedal-settings

It is possible that both pedal controllers I have simply do not work. The cord has output, but the controller will not respond. I might just order a Roland Hi hat controller. They are expensive. If I get this will you be able to help me get it working? So far everything else I can get working, so that's the good news!

Why did you decide that the controllers don't work?

Because I cannot get it to make any sort of sound at all. Even if I use another port and assigned it something no noise is produced at all. So it has to be the controller... Otherwise I am connecting it to port 2/3 for hihat. If I connect the single zone smarttrigger hi hat it works, but the foot controller simply does not. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

The controller doesn't have anything to do with whether it makes sound or not - it just determines how open -or closed- the hi hat is. You can just plug in the hi hat cymbal and it should make a sound regardless of whether the controller is connected or not.

To be clear: the controller goes into its own input (looking from the back of the module, top left, 1st input), which is fixed (i.e. you can't just plug it in anywhere), and the cymbal goes into another input, which by default is the 3rd socket from the top left, though you can assign it to another input if you want.

You're definitely doing something wrong, so I wouldn't rush into buying another controller just yet.

Oh, so wait... That very first port that seemingly has no obvious assignment is for the CC4/controller? Well screw me!

Okay, so I took a pic that Dmitri had posted on here, as this is the exact same MDM I have. So assuming port 1 starts where my crappy red arrow is, im going to assume the first 2 are for HH controller? Yes, because I can trigger kick in that one port, and port 1 is for default kick drum.

So here's the thing... I can connect hi hat cymbal, and trigger it, but I cannot get the controller to work with it, ie, open/close ect. It does absolutely nothing. So I have to be missing some sort of setting here... I am using Superior Drummer 2.0 the metal foundry. I can see in the hi hat section that the controller within the program is CC4, but I cannot get it to do anything at all when connected. I have tried both of the ports that are before port 1 as stated... Any ideas?
