Megadrum suddenly stops

Hi,
im having problems with my megadrum.

I use it via USB, its sounds perfect but usually just for a couple of minutes until the PC no longer recibes any information from the megadrum. The display on the MD shows that im hitting the pads, but it doesnt send it to the computer.
I have to restart the soundcard (m-audio fast track pro) and the megadrum so it starts working again.
the DAW im using is Reaper, with superior drummer for the VST.

I dont know if it has something to do with the fact that the megadrum manager ALWAYS shows SysEx timeouts when I press "Send all". Individually, everything is sended allright.

what could if be?

edit:
i have the Atmega644, firmware 20131111 .

edit2:
im playing it with a notebook unplugged. It appears that the megadrum works fine but i havent played it a lot to see if it suddenly stops again. But at least its working more time than when i plug the notebook.
And i also cant have the notebook unpluged all the time to play megadrum. If there is any problem with the ground, what should i do?

Make sure the PIC is connected according to schematics in viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1075 and it uses USB firmware from http://www.megadrum.info/downloads.php

Problem solved !

i updated the firmware and was going to solder an extra 33k resistor to the 26 pin of the PIC. But i managed to see that when i closed the box where i had the circuits, the cable of the PIC programer (that are still attached to the PCB) touched and made a shortcut.

and those are on the pin 26 and others, so i secured better the cables so that they didnt move and there wasnt any problem after that.

Im sorry that the conflict was made by some mistake of mine that i hadnt seen earlier.
Thanks a lot for all your help
