Hi Hat Control Jack

Postby EricSinger » Fri Apr 25, 2008 6:41 pm

I'm soldering the 40 pin connector and i don't know which is power source and hihat controller input. The power source is tip or ring? thanks

My hihat pedal is a millenium pedal and only has two states, open or closed. is compatible with megadrum? thanks

Synthex the new atmega works OK

On 32 INPUTS Connector :
pin 3 = Power source for HiHat controller
pin 4 = Input for HiHat controller

I do not know how is cabled the millenium pedal ...
Why not to make your own with a pot, to have a proportional command ?

the millenium pedal is mono. have a switch for roland or yamaha modules, because work different.

I soldered the power in ring the ground in sleeve and the input in the tip, is correctly??

The pedal don't work anyway

I don't make a new pedal whit pot because i think to buy a roland VH11 for my drumset in a month or two month.

Again, I do not know how is cabled the millenium pedal ...
Can you test the pedal with a multi-meter, to know more about it?

When the pedal is open there are infinite resistance between tip and ground

when the pedal is close there are about 25 ohms between tip and sleeve

it is all!

a question

because the backlight of my lcd don't work?? my lcd have backlight!!

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I figure posting here would be better than making a new thread.

Is it possible to get firmware that would only have extra inputs, and not have hi-hat controller portion, or are there physical components on the board that are specifically for the hi-hat? I'm asking because I'm going to be making a megadrum to expand the number of inputs I have for my TD-12. It's not a huge deal if it can't be done, but I was just curious.

There is a physical component on the board that is specifically for the hi-hat controller : a resistor ! ;)
All others inputs can be used as extra inputs.

Why my pedal doesn't work with megadrum?? Can I use other input to control hats??
Can I have 2 control HH??

If I will do a DIY pot pedal, what components I need?? and the schematic? i read about low impedance and high impedance pedals, there are a problem with this in a DIY pot pedal??
