Hi

that my first ICSP programming attempt!!

I have a PIC 18F14K50 and I use the schematic from Synthex V.3.2 PCB - it's like this from dmitri :

http://www.megadrum.info/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=702

But what have I done yet??? :?: :?:

Can I use the cable like this: http://www.megadrum.info/schematics.php
Or must I have a other occupancy???
Why is the PIC pin 7 connected to pin 1 from the ICSP but the pin 1 from the cable is free???

Can I connect the 9Pin SubD simply to the Com Port from my PC??

What simple programm can I use which suports the PIC18F14K50??

Bye and THANKS!! ;)

Manuel

You cannot program PIC18F14K50 with an ICSP cable.
You can program it with PicKit2 - http://www.microchip.com/stellent/idcpl ... e=en023805

Dmitri or anyone else,
Same problem here...
Can there be anyother PIC put in here instaead (like a drop in replacement). There is no point in buying a PIC programmer to program one PIC like once on a few months (everytime a new PIC firmware has been released).
TIA.

I don't know.
Why not PicKit 2 which is available there as well?

Dmitri,
This is 40 USD and Pic Kit 2 is 100 USD :)
I would be programming the PIC once or twice in a year... (based on how frequently you would release a new software for PIC :))
And spending 100 USD for that does not make sense

Lawrence
