What piezo frequency should I be using?

Postby nigelfelony » Sun Feb 06, 2011 4:14 am

I purchased 2.5 khz piezo's and they clearly are not sensitive enough for what i need. What should I be using for touch/button style triggers? the others available to me are either 3.6 or 6.3 thanks

All I know is that a bigger piezo is more sensitive than a smaller piezo.
I use 27mm piezo in my drums and have to use the ''all gains low'' setting to cool my pads down.
Did you check your MD settings? Than can have a lot of effect.

Best thing to do would be to try out a few piezo to see which works best. Let us know what you find out. ;)

I have some I purchased on ebay that work well....yet don't know what the frequency is , then made the mistake of ordering more from a different seller without even considering the frequency...they were much thinner and a lot less sensitive.....all are 20mm. guess i will try both the 3.6 and 6.3.
