i've been searching round to find out about using a potentiometere as my hi hat control. I can't seem to find a diagram for how exactly i would attach it. Never been completely clear on how to wire the hi hat with the whole low impedance high impedance thing.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/100k-Slide-POTENT ... 334d764fddif i use one of these how will it need to be wired?

viewtopic.php?p=1675#p1675If the pot used is less than 47k, connect it to the default HiHat pedal input and leave AltIn at No.
If the pot used is more than 47k, connect it to the alternative HiHat pedal input and set AltIn to Yes.

thanks for the reply, but i'm still a bit confused because that diagram is for wiring it to a jack and isn't numbered on the pot.
the linear pot i have has 4 pins numbered 1, 2, 2, 3
looks like this
___________________________
2...................................2
.....1.......................3.......
_________________________
I'd guess 1 goes to the power source, 2 to the pedal input and 3 is for ground?

You can use a meter to figure out which pin is which by measuring resistance between all of them while moving the slider up and down.
