it took me a while to write back because I was rebuilding my usb connections. But still no change.

I checked pin 20 during the programming and it it +5.12v

Is that what it supposed be?

SO, just to clarify: I'll always read "Could not initialize programmer"? Will I always read "FAILURE" after the programming too?

Now I keep getting this same code when I read de PIC. Even when I erase the PIC and then programm it again

It is.

Even though I have "Could not initialize programmer" when programming, I get "no errors" after programming finished.

Can you erase your PIC and then read it back without programming it?

Sure. This is what I get after I erase the PIC:

Code: Select all
:00000001FF

I tried to program it with COM2.At the time, the reading of the PIC was:

Code: Select all
:02000000E3FF1C
:0E000000EDF8FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF19
:00000001FF

But then, I changed to COM1 and read it. Now the reading was:

Code: Select all
:02000000E3FF1C
:0E000000DAFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF25
:00000001FF

Pretty strange.... Now I'm sure that my pic is not keeping anything in it... Is there any kind of thest I can do to confirm if the PCI is really bust?

Yes, program it in a proper PIC programmer:)

1. Are you sure that the resistors you used in the ICSP cable are 10k?
2. In WinPic->Interface tab check "slow mode" checkbox and try to program the PIC again. What do you get?

Yes, the resistors are all 10K. I checked the cable and it's just as in the diagram.

I tried using "slow mode", but I get the same results...

I'm getting pessimist... :(

Should I try "Clear fuses" ?

Seems we've checked everything. At this point I would have presumed that your PIC is dead, unless you can check it with another PIC programmer.

I don't have one... I tried to build one myself yesterday, with no luck... so now I'm buying another PIC, that will come programmed... but it's a shame, because I don't know for sure if the pic is really dead...
