OK. The only connector on the pedal is a 1/4 inch jack socket which works with a mono cable on the dm5 so tip-sleeve resistance is the important one I guess which is infinite when the pedal is up and falls to 0.8 ohms when down. Ring-sleeve is always infinite either way.

Then follow steps as described in viewtopic.php?p=14541#p14541 and report your results.

hi.
following those steps the maximum low level is 281 and the minimum high level is 272.
Thanks

How do you get LowLevel higher than HiLevel?

low level moves to 271 when I bring the high level down.

If you follow viewtopic.php?p=14541#p14541 exactly it is not possible to get LowLevel higher than HiLevel. Can you make a video how you do it to prove me wrong?

it might be because I kept my finger on the button to let it scoot through the values. If I change the values one by one then both reach 272.

In this case you have a connectivity (break) problem from the pedal's switch to the pedal's input/MUXer.

ha. Got it. Fiddled with jumpers a bit more and it works a treat. Low level 64 high level 891. I'll post a photo of the jumper configuration tomorrow in case it's of use to anyone.
Thanks for all your time. Guess I got to learn to play the drums now :).
Cheers

Photo came out fuzzy so I'll just describe it. If you have an Alesis type hi-hat pedal (simple switch with infinite resistance between tip and sleeve when not pressed, and low resistance when pressed) then, assuming you are looking at the back of the inputs the impedance jumper goes on the left two pins, the farthest polarity jumper is on the right two pins and the closest polarity jumper is on the left two pins. Pot type seems to work fine and Altin was not required.
Now for positional sensing.
