You mean you want full control from input controllers at the kit rather than from a PC interface - it's obvious to me now - how would you expect this to function?

Dmitri 'Dawg'; watch for Mr Palmer stage left.
I enjoyed that A&R

In a live situation where many devices have to be controlled in real time, even while playing with both hands and right foot, you'd in a big trouble with a PC interface. Plus you'd never want to run a PC interface on a machine that runs all the sequenced tracks and VSTi-s in most of the songs. All you'd want is to change setups on all devices by stomping on a pedal with your left foot and this would send all the necessary program changes to all machines. Just like in my old setup. the 20090617 firmware is already capable of handling PC messages.

Does the new firmware fit the bill?

It should, according to what Dmitri wrote about it, but I ran into this PIC plague in the meantime and right now I've been struggling to rewrite the firmware of the PIC for two days

You'll not get positional sensing with these.
Are those custom toms !?

... do you really get all those people together for the weather report?

I have a different goal with using electronics. Positional sensing doesn't have much significance when you trigger synthetic sounds. Positional sensing would be just another modulation source for these, like velocity or a foot controller.
Plus, who needs positional sensing when you have a properly miked acoustic kit? I'll never sacrifice that for the sake of positional sensing by installing triggers that dampen the sound.

No, this is my favourite kit, a Peavey Radial Pro 1000, which was surely the most misjudged instrument in drum history:

http://peaveydrums.moonfruit.com/#/history/4519786597

However, I'm switching to my Yamaha Recording Custom to play live, because there are no air holes on the Peavey toms, so I can't mount my UKKO mics on them, which can be used as triggers, too and this makes them a lot more convenient to set up. The Yamaha sounds great, but the Peavey beats it hands down in any style.

I mean the collective of course - sometimes...
(Thinks: Is it 9:30 AM - professionalism and dedication or, 9:30 PM - a late start for the audience).

I still like these http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/autotune/autotune_intro.html
and what about mic placement with these http://www.trixondrums.de/trixon/trixon.htm

I love the Autotune! The articles are very well written, too, I wish he had added some sound files as well.
I've known Trixon before and I could never figure out how someone can come to a decision to make something like this. Mounting the UKKO mics on a Trixon bass drum would be no problem, because they're just a piece of adhesive tape that can be stuck anywhere. Once the Trixon has an air hole, the ribbon cable can be connected to the preamp, However, finding a hard case for the bass drum would be quite a challenge (not to mention the drum heads, of course)...

Wow! that was amazing!

The drum sounds were real acoustic sounds or where they triggered by megadrum? it is not clear to me.

Dmitri, you should post this video on the website! :)
