Hi
I first built it on perf board following one of Synthex's early all-in-one designs and was lucky enough to get it all working. It's rewarding in the sense that it's a truly DIY approach, but then after a few months it started to have problems - I'm not saying that will necessarily happen to you, but troubleshooting on a perf board can be a real nightmare unless you manage a real neat and tidy construction (I didn't...) and get all the connections right the first time round. On the other hand if you're a noob like me it gives you the chance to really see how everything is connected and is a good learning experience.
Best of luck!
If it ain't broken... fix it until it is.
