Photo paper artifacts

When using the toner transfere method I can see a kinda glaze over the toner area and parts of the copper clad board.
Is this normal and will it effect the etching?

It should not. You just need to get the big chunks of paper off. The acid will remove the glaze/haze you see.

I used Canon Photo Paper to make a few Guitar Effect PCB's and the paper left artifacts between tights traces, bridging the traces... After etching I had to scrape off the bridges. On my second one I did, I scraped off the artifacts before etching and all went well...

He's referring to the slight glaze/haze you get after removing the paper. It leaves a white-ish film on the board even after removing all of the paper. You can still visually see the traces and inspect the board for breaks/bridges/shorts in the traces and correct them prior to etching. But I did not remove the haze you're referring to. From what I saw I think you'd have to go to town scrubbing the board and likely scrub off the toner in the process.

Sounds exactly like what mine had. But mine seemed a bit thicker than your description. Mine flaked off when pushed/lightly rubbed with a small screw driver. Canon Brand Photo paper is very thick so I think it leaves a heavier glaze on. If your using a very heavy paper it might be worth it to remove it.
